Overview of the VolPrint System

Printing on campus is simple and convenient. More than 60 printers are available for students to use in OIT Labs and at the University Libraries.

The VolPrint system, was installed in May 2004 and began charging August 12, 2004. VolPrint was created to establish a unified system of printing on campus. University Administration and students came together to implement a system that is fair and easy to use.

You can print your documents directly from computers in the OIT Labs and the Libraries or from your laptop using a wireless connection.

This web site outlines specific details of the VolPrint system, printing tips, alternatives to printing, frequently asked questions, and where to go for additional help.

Why we chose the current system:

  • Environmental: paper consumption will be drastically reduced
  • Economic: departments that are currently absorbing the costs incurred by the University community will be able to more aptly utilize their resources
  • Egalitarian: helps avoid rising costs due to a small group of users printing at exorbitant rates
